I am Alexandru Radulescu, CEO & Founder at bmy.guide and I want to share with you our vision and goals.
Firstly, I want to thank God for all the kindness, forgiveness, and for all the people He brought into my life. When I started building bmy.guide, I thought about building a simple application that supports people while travelling and allow them to see the world through other people’s eyes.
Today, 4 years later, bmy.guide is an impressive search engine, answering 16.6 million questions about the natural environment, without advertising campaigns or commercial interests involved… and I am so proud of this!
bmy.guide is the first decentralized search engine of the natural environment and locations around the world, whose database is built, updated and owned entirely by its users. bmy.guide is a peer-to-peer search engine supported by a social platform, where the users are updating relevant information, reviews, photos, journals or videos in order to offer other users the relevant information they are searching for.
Most importantly, the bmy.guide search engine will never allow information added by companies, will never build an advertising platform and will never register promotion campaigns inside the mobile app or the web platform. We have built bmy.guide this way in order to provide a different perspective of the current ecosystem.
bmy.guide chooses to fight for human rights to relevant information, for the preservation of values, traditions, national and international cultures, for the unity and peace between people and countries, for the care and affection we must have for the place we live in and for our planet.
In the last 4 years, since we started building the bmy.guide search engine, there have been many people who have helped us and supported us to get here and whom I would like to thank wholeheartedly.
And I want you to understand that without their support I would have stopped many times from building what is today bmy.guide:
Dan Eriksson (CTO, with 18 years experience in Security and Databases) and his team of professionals (Naynesh Trivedi, Rakesh Pandya, Nikita Shah), whom we truly thank for being part of bmy.guide.Our brother Larry Akpa, Alexandru Nedelcu and Denny, the designers who make our ideas visible and real. J. Castillio in charge with our community on bitcointalk. Karan Patwardhan who is developing for the last 2 years the world-treasury platform.
A team of almost 100 friends who are with us every day for the last 4 years. The biggest supporters of our project: Mihai Sftecu, Lidia Sfetcu, Iohan Dobre, Renato Devlin, Ioannis Antonopoulos, Daniel Puia- Dumitrescu, Alida Puia-Dumitrescu, Pavel Sorin, Tony, Naima, Eduardo, Adrian Pantea, Meyer, Alex Lima, Chaminda, Margot, Mike, Anto, Khoo Sze Lak, Stefan Gheorghiu,Sergiu Macavei, Jhon Marshall, Alex Ionescu, … and I would need another letter just to write them all. With them I started to build the idea of a search engine, with them I grew the bmy.guide project. Together we will go even further. I thank them for being with me and for supporting the project in all the ways they did.
The Ambassadors from over 40 countries ( including the 500 ambassadors registered in our competitions), who have been with us since the beginning of the ‘Genesis‘ campaign, started in 2018. They represent the truest and the most pure form of information. They are the most important journalists on earth. Through their eyes, people will see the world. Thank you for your friendship.
Adina Timonea and Tania Campeanu, the heads of the bmy.guide legal department, part of our family and sincere friends, who supported us unconditionally from the beginning and!
Bogdan Hristea and Ligia Ligia Stanescu, in charge with the finance department, people who have made a lot of sacrifices to support the bmy.guide project. They were with us all the time and we love them very much!
The initial team of developers, among which Alexandru Caldaresu, Mihai Tincau and Stefan, who literally started the development of bmy.guide
All these wonderful people whose name was mentioned above, supported the project voluntarily by participating in its construction and by offering their financial and moral support, every time it was needed. They are also the only shareholders of the company .Only God could be responsible for bringing such people together! It is an honor and a great joy for me to meet you and to be able to work with you in the same team!
In terms of the marketing, during the last 4 years, I want to share with you a part of my strategy:
When I could no longer afford to pay the people working on the project, I started giving up on people in order to reduce the costs. When we couldn’t reduce the crew anymore, we closed the office where we worked and continued working from home. When at home I had nothing to reduce from the goods and objects I owned, I reduced the house and moved on.
I moved the office to dressage, but they also reduced the electricity…
Others would have stopped, I took a generator!
When there was no other solution, and we couldn’t afford to be live and running with the platform, I’ve stopped everything and headed to different directions in order to find solutions.
But I never compromised on the purpose of bmy.guide or on the values we promote! We did not want to sell anything to any private investor or VC fund. We have not accepted any single article, post or promotion banner to be displayed on the platform by companies. I did not want to accept any pixel of ads on the our decentralized platform — bmy.guide.
I have made many mistakes in this life. Only God knows! But I kept it vertical when it comes to bmy.guide and I protected it as much as I could.
We have struggled to stay away from the misery that advertising and big companies bring.
We fought and we are still fighting for the human moral values: not to be manipulated in any way or to be influenced in the process of making a decision. We want our users to decide for themselves where, why and how they want to travel around the world.
I want you to understand our scope and purpose. We come with completely different operating principles than the modern capitalist. The values we fight for are different from the values of our competitors. That’s why I apologize, but you won’t see us too often on Facebook, Instagram or Google…You will not see us in paid ads or social media advertising. I am sorry, but we will not pay any ‘influencer’ to give us a positive review. bmy.guide banners will not harass any user. We fight against these methods of manipulating human decisions.
bmy.guide is not interested in conducting any promotional campaigns, until the official launch of the bmy.guide mobile application and the new web platform. Our focus is only on the qualitative and organic growth of the bmy.guide database, on the quality of the content shared by the ambassadors, on the development of the bmy.guide applications and the user experience that needs to be improved in the next period.
We want to offer quality, relevance, safety and an application ease of use.
All this time:
1) We will make weekly updates of the mobile/web applications development
2) We will test the mobile/web applications along with the community
3) We will grow together, organically and with quality traffic
4) We will continue to register the remaining 132 countries and 1700 new ambassadors from over 150 countries
5) We will continue the posting campaigns in order to increase the database.
I personally want to thank my wife, Alexandra Nedelcu, who among many other things, is translating and writing this letter for me, and who had no problem in writing ‘I’ instead of ‘we’.
Dear friends, if you share the same vision and beliefs with what bmy.guide stands for, I will ask you to join us in this adventure. And unless you have other plans, good luck to all of us to the top!
